The new update fixes occasional camera freeze issues

Nikon has just rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its COOLPIX P900 digital compact camera, namely version 1.1, which resolves occasional problems that caused the device to freeze or stop working.

In addition to that, the present update also fixes the event where the pictures wouldn’t be saved or displayed properly. These aforementioned issues would be rarely encountered when the eye sensor was used to switch between the monitor and electronic viewfinder displays.

Therefore, if these problems affected your camera, ensure the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, and download and run the appropriate package compatible with your computer (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms).

Afterwards, take your time and backup all images or any important files stored in the camera’s internal memory before initiating an upgrade, as this data most likely will be erased during the firmware installation.

Now, if all is OK, transfer newly-created “firmware” folder onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera and turn it on, select Firmware Version, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to remove and format the memory card used in this process and check the currently installed firmware in order to make sure it reads version 1.1.

With this in mind, download Nikon COOLPIX P900 Camera Firmware 1.1 for your appropriate operating system, apply it using the aforementioned steps, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your camera.
