The new release fixes Eye-Fi wireless upload issues

Today, Nikon has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its Nikon 1 V2 camera, namely version 1.21, which includes a fix for the device’s Eye-Fi wireless upload feature.

Specifically speaking, this release resolves the problem that caused Eye-Fi to hang when using a button other than the movie-record one to end filming and uploading it (via wireless) from an Eye-Fi card.

Therefore, if you have been encountering this issue, first of all, go to Menu > Setup > Firmware version, and check the currently installed software in order to make sure that it isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If all is OK, save and run the downloadable package (available for both Windows and Mac OS platforms), format a compatible memory card using the camera’s body, and turn off the imaging device.

Afterwards, copy file “V2_0121.bin” from within the newly created folder onto the memory card, insert it into your camera and turn it on, go to Firmware Version once more, and follow all instructions displayed for a complete and successful upgrade.

Last but not least, after the new firmware has been applied, make sure to turn off the camera and remove its memory card (don’t forget to format it again). Also, it would be a good idea to check the currently installed version once more to ensure that the process has been successful.

With this in mind, download Nikon 1 V2 Camera Firmware A:1.21/B:1.21 for your computer’s OS, apply it taking the aforementioned steps, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
