14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has just released new firmware packages targeted at two of its smart cameras, namely version 1.12 and 1.42 compatible with the NX300M and NX300 digital cameras, which only improve audio performance for the movie playback.
Therefore, if you want to benefit from a higher sound quality, then get and extract the proper downloadable package for your device model, initialize a compatible memory card using the camera, make sure the battery is fully charged, and turn off the NX unit.
Now, copy the newly-extracted firmware file to the root folder of the SD card, insert it into the camera, power the device on, and go to Menu → Settings → Device Information → Firmware Update, and select “Body Firmware.”
If all was done right, then you should see a “Body Upgrade?” message which requires your permission to initiate the upgrade; simply select “Yes” and wait for the new firmware to be applied.
Bear in mind that during the installation the camera will reboot 3 times, as it has several tasks to complete, therefore, make sure you don’t reboot the device, use its buttons, or remove the battery or the SD card.
Upon completion, just power off the NX unit, remove the memory card, and turn the device back on in order to check the currently installed firmware. If the update has been successful, the camera should now display the 1.12 (1.42) version.
