A new release from Panasonic comes to improve the stability of video signal processing for its AG-HPX600 video camera. Before I go any further, bear in mind that all the data in SCENE FILE and USER FILE will return to initial factory settings when the new firmware is installed.

To back up your data, write the scene and user files to the SD card, both the current and saved values of the settings. You will be able to restore these settings after the update is complete and the camera is reset to its defaults.

The update requires you to download the Panasonic AG-HPX600 camera firmware 29.29 and extract the contents of the archive to the root folder of a memory card formatted with the unit.

Next, connect the power cord to the camera and turn it on, then press the “Thumbnail” button to open up thumbnail display mode. Now, it is time to insert the SD card into its slot and press the “Thumbnail Menu” button.

In the menu that comes up on the screen, use the cursor to select “Operation,” “Update,” and, finally, “Yes.” The SD access LED will light up and details on the installation process will come up on the display. Follow the on-screen instructions to successfully complete the setup.

The update can take up to 30 minutes, so please be patient and do not force close the camera or interrupt the installation.

Get the latest firmware for Panasonic's AG-HPX600 camera, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
