Extron, an American manufacturer, has recently released a new firmware update for its DSC 301 HD compact HDCP-compliant video scaler. Version 1.11 fixes the audio delay issue with some sources playing Dolby or DTS encoded multi-channel audio.

Other problems that get resolved with this release include one where video inputs would intermittently glitch on a subset of DSC 301 HD units running firmware version 1.09 or one where the scaler would discard the EDID file when importing it if it was not 256 bytes in length including a CEA extension block.

A known issue that couldn't get repaired with this update regards the unstable image with Dell's U2413 monitors manifesting intermittent green screens or no image at all.

The installation is simple and requires you to download the Extron DSC 301 HD video scaler firmware 1.11, run the executable, and follow the on-screen steps of the setup wizard.
