Android is a really "catchy" operating system and we get to see more and more devices running Google's OS. ZEN Touch 2 (with GPS) is one of the top-drawer gadget in Creative's offer, now getting a new firmware, 2.00.35.

The new firmware is in fact a new, improved version of the 2.2 Android OS, codenamed Froyo, optimized and tweaked for the Creative player. It sports fixes for the browser shutdown routine and "Internal Application Error" in the SoundRecorder application.

The USB file transfer has also been improved while the output volume via A2DP has been increased. Handling the WMA tag files is better now, and so is the image deletion routine in Explorer.

Users can upgrade to version 2.00.35 only if they're already running 2.00.23. Older firmware must be upgraded to 2.00.23 prior to attempting the .35 installation. Creative warn that a firmware downgrade is not possible and advise that all important data should be backed up before the upgrade procedure is started.

As always, make sure you've got at least 25% battery left and do not power down your device during the upgrade. You can download the ZEN Touch 2 (with GPS) Firmware 2.00.35 from Softpedia and enjoy a better player.
