ASRock has just released a new BIOS update for its Z87M Extreme4 motherboard. Version 1.90 comes in Windows, DOS, and Instant Flash formats and its release notes mention that it modifies the system ID information.

The installation is simple and requires just a few steps. For Windows users, the executable file packed inside the archive will reduce the flashing to a simple double-click, followed by some on-screen instructions.

For those who are either not running Windows OS or prefer the Instant Flash installation, pick the correct download link and proceed as instructed below.

First of all, extract the file to a USB stick or any other storage device that is formatted in FAT32 file system. Next, enter BIOS setup and go to the “Instant Flash” utility located in the “Tool” tab. This will search all attached storage devices for valid update files.

When prompted, select the suitable BIOS version and flash. While this process is ongoing, please do not interrupt the system or power if off.

If you've decided to update, download the new ASRock Z87M Extreme4 BIOS 1.90, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
