NVIDIA has just rolled out another graphics driver that maintains support for OpenGL 4.5 and GLSL 4.50, namely version 340.76 beta, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 platforms.

Microsoft’s latest operating system, namely Windows 8.1, isn’t suitable for this release, therefore don’t try to apply the 340.76 beta driver on this OS.

Moreover, you should also know that the computer configuration must contain one of the Fermi, Kepler, or Maxwell-based graphics processing units in order to benefit from the complete functionality of the OpenGL 4.5 and GLSL 4.50.

When it comes to compatible video cards, this release is suitable for several of NVIDIA’s Quadro series, as well as the GeForce 400, 500, 600, and 700 graphics units series.

As for installing the package, simply make sure your computer is supported by the present update, save and run the appropriate executable for your operating system, and follow the onscreen instructions for a complete and successful upgrade.

In addition to that, if not requested by the wizard, it would be best if you performed a manual reboot to make sure that all changes take effect properly.

That being said, download NVIDIA OpenGL 4.5 Graphics Driver 340.76 Beta, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the package in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
