The release improves connectivity for Apple clients

NETGEAR has made available firmware version 2.5.0.31 suitable for its WC7520 ProSAFE wireless controllers, which improves connectivity stability for Apple clients, as well as DFS channel selection.

In addition to that, NETGEAR’s update also fixes a rare issue that prevented connected users from sending data, as well as the one where captive clients receive incorrect time when they roam.

Therefore, if your device has been experiencing these problems and you intend to upgrade the WC7520 unit, first of all check its currently installed firmware and make sure it reads at most version 2.5.0.28.

If all is ok, save and extract the downloadable archive, connect the controller to your computer through an Ethernet cable, go to Maintenance > Upgrade > Firmware Upgrade, and click the “Browse” button next to the Local File section.

Now, navigate and select the “wc7520_m5-2.5.0.31.bin” file, click “Apply,” and allow the wireless controller to do its job, as a reboot will be automatically performed upon completion.

Bear in mind that, since a firmware upgrade crash can cause serious device malfunctions, during the installation, make sure that you don’t close the browser, power off the controller, reboot the computer, or make use of the WC7520’s buttons.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR WC7520 Wireless Controller Firmware 2.5.0.31, apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes and improvements that this release brings about.
