The new release improves network key input detection

Today, NETGEAR has made available firmware 1.0.0.52 developed for its EX6200 wireless range extender, which resolves the incorrect network key input detection issue encountered in Smart Setup, as well as in Genie Wizard.

If this problem has bothered you until now, then it’s time to fix it. For starters, write down all the settings that you have changed from the default configuration (if any), as they might need to be re-entered manually after applying the new firmware.

In addition to that, prior to initiating the upgrade, make sure to establish a wired connection between EX6200 and the computer. This ensures a stable linking during the installation so that no disconnection events are encountered.

Now, save and extract the downloadable archive on your desktop, log in to the extender’s web user interface (username and password required), go to Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade, click “Browse,” and navigate and select the newly-unzipped .chk file.

If all steps are performed properly, hit “Upload,” and allow the EX6200 to do its job. To be more specific about the next events, the firmware file (.chk format) will be transferred to the extender, and afterwards, the update will be initiated automatically.

However, bear in mind that interrupting this process by removing the Ethernet cable, powering off or rebooting the EX6200/PC, or using the device’s buttons can cause serious device malfunctions.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR EX6200 Firmware 1.0.0.52, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and carefully apply the latest version on your wireless range extender.
