MikroTik has just rolled out RouterOS firmware 6.26 compatible with all its switches, access points, routers, and several other devices, which fixes various SSH-related problems, allows adding VLANs to OVPN server bindings, and more.

This present release also adds a new PFS option that has the ability to enable DHE, increases the PPPoE client timeout when searching for servers, and fixes an SSTP issue encountered on Windows 8 where clients weren’t able to connect.

In addition to that, the compatible devices will get fixes for some console missing export entries, the API system check-installation, as well as for various Webfig design skin problems.

Moreover, the system check-installation won’t report incorrect errors to PPC anymore, the NTP client now accepts IPv6 as a server address, and SMB receives stability improvements and fixes for some crashes and disconnect problems.

As for installing this update, first of all make sure to get the proper downloadable package for your device architecture. MikroTik has provided different files for each of its mipsbe, mipsle, ppc, tile, and x86 product types.

Afterwards, connect to your unit using Windbox, copy the .npk file onto its root file menu directory, and wait for the upload to finish. Upon completion, just reboot the unit and check the currently installed version to ensure it has been successfully applied.

Taking into account all aforementioned aspects, carefully download MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.26 for your specific configuration, upgrade it to the latest software version, and enjoy the new changes this release brings about.
