ASUS has released a new firmware package developed several of its routers, namely version 1.0.7.0 targeted at the DSL-N16U, DSL-N14U, DSL-N12U (Ver.C1), DSL-N12E (Ver.C1), and DSL-N10 (Ver.C1) units.

Not only that this fresh update includes a huge number of fixes, improvements, and new features which will improve the compatible devices’ overall performance, but it also resolves several security-related problems (therefore lowering the vulnerability level).

In matters of security, version 1.0.7.0 adds an extra notification in order to avoid security risks, changes the WiFi security description, resolves the Network Tools pages vulnerabilities, and ensures a closed http session as soon as the user logs out.

In addition to that, the light HTTPD, Network place (Samba), and FTP vulnerabilities are fixed, the AiDisk setup wizard has been modified for an improved security level, and the FTP anonymous mode will need to be changed to account mode (mandatory).

As for the other changes, ASUS’s 1.0.7.0 update adds support for the HTTPS authentication method and SIP and H.323 Passthrough features, fixes problems regarding the Guest Network, General Log, WDS, and WPS, and Updates AiCloud (2.0.0.2) and Smartsync (1.0.0.6).
