MSI Updates Most of Its Gaming Series Notebooks Through New Drivers and BIOS Versions

All of MSI’s GS70, GT60, and GT70 notebook models are compatible with these new updates

Just today, MSI has made available several BIOS packages, as well as new Intel and NVIDIA graphics driver versions, targeted at most of its gaming series notebooks. All packages are to be used only under the 64-bit version of their specified OSes.

To be clearer, MSI has outed BIOS version 10F and 30F compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system, which are developed for the GT60 2OC and 2OD devices.

Moreover, the GS70 Stealth notebook receives BIOS version 109 and 309 for the Windows 7 OS, and the 509 and 709 BIOS packages developed for the Windows 8 platform.

As for the GT70 series products, namely the GT70 2OC and 2OD, Dragon Edition 2, and Dragon Edition 2 Extreme, they all have available the 10G and 30G (for Windows 7), as well as the 50G and 70G (for Windows 8) BIOS files.

As for fixes, while the GT60 series gets the Intel SpeedStep item added, and the LID S4 sleep issue fixed, the GT70 notebooks now have the Codebase 028 updated, and the BIOS version display problem in dxdiag under Windows 7 is resolved.

When it comes to the GS70 Stealth, the LID S3 resume and the dxdiag abnormal display issues are history, and the date error while pressing the del key is fixed. In addition to that, it also gets the Intel SpeedStep item added, just like the GT60 devices..

Furthermore, all the above-mentioned notebooks receive Intel’s 10.18.10.3277 beta graphics driver and, in addition to that, the GT70 products also get NVIDIA’s 9.18.13.1191 graphics package – both drivers are compatible with Windows 7 and 8 paltforms.

An important aspect that I must highlight is that BIOS versions 10F, 10G, 50G, 109, and 509 are to be installed in AHCI mode, and the other 30F, 30G, 70G, 309, and 709 packages must be applied on a RAID-based SKU.
