Leica has outed a new firmware package targeted at its M Typ 240 digital camera, namely version 2.0.1.5, which includes several changes and can be applied regardless of the operating system installed on your computer.

This fresh update fixes issues with Live View that wouldn’t work properly at high temperatures, resolves the sensor cleaning function problems, and improves lens type description in Exif-Data. Also, Live View is now compatible with every lens type through “Manual Lens Detection” option.

In addition to that, all ISO values can now be used through the ISO button, 1x, 2 x, and 4x focal length options are added to the “Maximum Exposure Time,” Korean can be used as a menu language, and several other changes are brought along with this update (the full changelog can be viewed on the description page).

As for installing version 2.0.1.5, format a compatible SD card using your Leica M camera, turn off the device, copy the downloadable “M_240-2.0.1.5.FW” file onto the root folder of the memory card, and insert it into the Leica M unit.

Now, simply press and hold the “INFO” button while turning on the camera to initiate the update process, and wait for the new firmware to be applied. Upon completion, an appropriate message will be displayed on the screen.

Therefore, download Leica M (Typ 240) Camera Firmware 2.0.1.5, review the complete list of changes that this release brings about, and apply the latest update on your device.
