Intel has released the 2.0.0.102 version of its USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver that is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system.

In order to support this newly released version, the system must contain the 4th generation of Intel’s Core CPUs, or the 8 or C220 Chipset Series family.

Moreover, the package is targeted only at Intel’s desktop boards, namely the DB85FL, DH87MC, DH87RL, DQ87PG, and DZ87KLT-75K devices.

Installing the 2.0.0.102 USB 3.0 is quite easy – just unzip the downloadable file, run the “Setup.exe” located within the extracted folder, click “Next,” read the License Agreement, and choose “Next” to advance.

Select “Next” again, and wait for the setup progress to complete. When it finishes, select “Next” and then “Finish” to reboot the system – the restart is required so that the changes made to the computer take effect.

If you encounter problems or have any USB issues specific to the desktop boards, Intel has made available a Troubleshooting PC Accessory Issues page that you can feel free to use.
