Intel has made available a new version for its PROSet/Wireless software and drivers, namely version 16.1.1, which can be installed on both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8 operating systems.

The release consists of 4 download records for each compatible platform, which provides the PROSet/Wireless WiFi software and drivers file, as well as the drivers-only package, for both bit variants.

Version 16.1.1 doesn’t come with any changelog. However, Intel highlights that the available files are targeted at home users and business customers who don’t need the advanced IT administrator features.

Therefore, the installation process is quite easy – just ensure that your wireless adapter is supported by this release, run the downloadable file, and follow the onscreen instructions.

The new packages are developed for the WiFi Link 1000, 5100, and 5300 network adapters, as well as most of Intel’s Centrino Wireless-N, Advanced-N, and Ultimate-N products (a detailed list is provided through the download page of each file).

That being said, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes the OS’s characteristics, as well as your desired package (whether drivers-only or drivers with PROSet/Wireless software).
