Intel has released the PROSet/Wireless driver and software version 15.8.0 that is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows XP, 7, and 8 operating systems.

The download record provides two types of packages. The first one contains only the necessary drivers for installation, and the second one includes, besides the drivers, the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software.

The last package type is targeted at end-users, including home and business customers, that don’t need advance IT administrator features.

As for the supported adapters, the release is compatible with the WiFi Link 1000, 5100, and 5300, and Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 devices.

In addition, Centrino Advanced-N 6200, 6205, 6230, 6235, and WiMAX 6250, along with the Wireless-N 1000, 1030, 105, 135, 2200, 2230, and WiMAX 6150 adapters are supported as well.

Moreover, there are two devices that are compatible with Windows 7 and 8 platforms, but aren’t suitable for the XP OS – namely the Centrino Wireless-N 100 and 130 adapters.

That being said, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes your OS and bit version.
