Intel has made available two new USB 3.0 driver versions compatible with the C220 and 8 series chipset family (version 2.5.3.34), and with the C216 and 7 series chipset family (version 1.0.10.255).

Moreover, while the 1.0.10.255-related package includes support for the 2nd-generation Intel Core i3, i5, i7, and i7 Extreme processors, as well as for all 3rd-gen Intel Core CPUs, the 2.5.3.34 USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller driver is compatible with all 4th-gen Intel Core processing units.

As for the changes made, both packages resolve a problem with the USB 3.0 monitor that failed to work under certain circumstances and, in addition to that, the 2.5.3.34 release also fixes an issue where the system powers on from S3 and S4 state when a mouse is connected behind a Super Speed port.

Last but not least, the 4th-gen CPU compatible package also resolves a bug that affected self-powered devices, which might not be properly enumerated when the system is in the S4 sleep state and the device is swapped to a different port.

When it comes to the suitable operating systems, the packages are compatible with both bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 OS, with the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2008 R2 platform, and, in addition to that, the 2.5.3.34 driver is also developed for the Windows Small Business Server 2008.

That being said, if you consider applying one of these releases, then download Intel USB 3.0 Driver 1.0.10.255 or download Intel USB 3.0 Driver 2.5.3.34 depending on your chipset and CPU generation, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
