Intel has unveiled its Rapid Storage Technology (RST) RAID version 12.8.0.1016, as well as the Management Engine (ME) driver version 9.0.5.1367, both 1.5M and 5M, which should improve the suitable devices’ stability and operability.

While the ME packages are compatible with both bit-variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8 operating systems, in addition to that, the RST driver supports the Windows 8.1, Server 2008 and 2012 platforms as well.

However, the producer doesn’t provide any changelog whatsoever for the ME drivers, but highlights that the 1.5M variant is developed for the DH87MC, DH87RL, and DZ87KLT-75K desktop boards, and the 5M package is suitable for its DB85FL and DQ87PG devices.

As for the RST release, its latest version disables LPM (HIPM/DIPM) when entering system state S4, and fixes the bad bytes status when sending ATA SCT (Smart Command Transport) commands.

Moreover, it resolves issues such as for the BSOD 0x7A spotted while running WinPMT Hibernation Focus, Start Stop Unit command failing while drive is asleep, and C5 BSOD when powering off the system from the start menu.

Furthermore, RST version 12.8.0.1016 consists of 3 download records, namely 2 F6 driver diskettes (one for each bit-variant), and another one providing multiple language files that can be installed regardless of the system’s bit-architecture.

That being said, from the links below, select the one that best describes your needs, and enjoy the changes and fixes it brings.
