Users of Intel Next Unit of Computing or NUC PC, rejoice at the announcement of a new LAN driver for your devices. The new driver update adds support for two of the most commonly used Ethernet Connection Chipsets, the I218-LM and I218-V.

The newly released driver exists in both 32 and 64 bit versions for Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1. This said, Intel does mention that not all Intel Ethernet adapters and controllers are supported under every version of Windows.

Regarding compatibility, this update installs the LAN driver for the Ethernet Controllers found in the following Next Unit of Computing kits: D34010WYK, D54250WYK, DC3217IYE, DC53427HYE and DCCP847DYE.

Intel has not forgotten about NUC mainboard users and has extended the update to contain the network chipset driver for several devices, such as the D33217GKE, D34010WYB, D53427RKE, D54250WYB and DCP847SKE boards.

The installation process of this driver is fairly easy: simply download the package compatible with your operating system and architecture, and follow the instructions provided by the install interface. It is a good idea to restart your NUC PC after the process is complete so that you will have a fresh and complete install.
