Intel has made available two new versions of the Renesas USB 3.0 firmware, namely the 2.0.2.0 and the 4.0.2.1 packages that update the back and front panel USB 3.0 ports, respectively.

The files are compatible with both bit versions of all of Microsoft’s Windows OSes (excepting the Vista platform), and are targeted only at its DX79SR and DX79TO desktop boards.

The new release will fix the BIOS and OS issues that didn’t recognize devices attached to the USB ports, and the system will not freeze on POST code 58 if a device is connected to the USB 3.0 port.

In addition, it resolves the Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller problem, which was displayed in Device Manager with a yellow bang and code 43 error.

While the DX79TO board has only 2 back USB 3.0 ports, and as such it will need only the 2.0.2.0 file version, the DX79SR device has 2 back and 2 front USB 3.0 ports more than the DX79TO board; therefore, it will need both packages.

So, from the list below, follow the link or links that best describe your Intel desktop board.
