HP has outed a new Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) firmware package targeted at its ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 systems, namely version 1.51, which is compatible with all variants of Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 and 2012 platforms.

When it comes to changes, the fresh update resolves a bug that caused intermittent NMI (Non-Maskable Interrupt) events to take place.

This phenomenon affected ProLiant Gen8 Servers that were running a Hypervisor platform along with the previous HP Integrated Lights-Out 4 Firmware 1.50 release, as well as with older versions such as 1.40, 1.32, or 1.30.

As for installing the release, simply get the downloadable package, run it on the host, and press the “Install” button for the firmware to be automatically applied and the iLO 4 processor to be reset.

In addition to that, you can also press the “Extract” button to place the “ilo4_151.bin” file in a desired location, log into the iLO 4, navigate to the Firmware section, and apply the new update from there.

Either way, after the process has completely finished, rebooting the server isn’t required for the changes to take effect; after the installation the overall system stability is maintained.

That being said, download HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 iLO 4 Firmware 1.51 and upgrade the server’s firmware to the latest version. Also, check back with our website constantly in order to be the first to know when a new update is available.
