Today, the HIFIMAN HM-901 and HM-802 digital audio players receive two new firmware packages, namely version 1.085 and 1.003, respectively, which include a few changes that improve the devices’ overall stability and performance.

The newly released versions enhance the wheel navigation program, remove most of the incorrect signals due to aging, and resolve the wheel’s reversing problem.

In addition to that, these updates also include CUE support and fix the playlist disorder bug that was encountered when performing a restart while the resume-playing mode was on.

Aside from the aforementioned changes, the 1.085 firmware sets the HM-901 digital chip filter as opened by default as well.

When it comes to applying these versions, you must get the proper downloadable firmware and copy the “update.zip” file onto a formatted SD card (only FAT32 is supported) – don’t rename or decompress the archive.

In order to enter update mode, while pressing the Home button, hold the Power key and release it when the player turns on. Bear in mind that the Home button should not be released until the HIFIMAN logo fades out.

If the steps are done right, the player should now automatically initiate the upgrade process. After the installation has completed, make sure to power off the player to allow all changes to take effect.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your digital audio player, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, and update your HIFIMAN DAP.
