GoPro has just announced the availability of firmware 2.00.00 targeted at its HERO4 Black and Silver action cameras, which includes new features such as Time Lapse Video mode, Auto Image Rotation, 30 photos/6 seconds burst rates, as well as other changes.

This new release also changes the Protune default video ISO to 1600, improves Night Lapse stability, includes a Reset option for the camera's Wi-Fi settings, and allows displaying Night Lapse shutter time on the device’s status screen.

In addition to that, firmware 2.00.00 includes the ability to add HiLight Tags during playback, as well as new gestures for showing the last photo or video that has been captured, and will automatically lock the display after entering sleep mode.

Besides the aforementioned changes, GoPro’s HERO4 Black unit also receives 720p240 (narrow FOV only) and 2.7K60 video modes compatibility.

When it comes to upgrading your action camera, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive, copy the newly-created “UPDATE” folder onto a compatible memory card, and insert it into your device while it’s powered off.

Afterwards, just power the HERO4 on and it will automatically initiate the upgrade. Bear in mind that during the installation your camera will reboot several times, therefore make sure you don’t interrupt the process in any way.

That being said, download GoPro HERO4 Camera Firmware 2.00.00 for your specific device model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
