14 DAY TRIAL // Gigabyte, the well-known electronics manufacturer from Taiwan, has just released a new BIOS for its U2442D ultrabook. Version F30AA fixes the Fn+Space Smart Manager display issue and is applicable only under Windows 8.
The update procedure is simple, but it requires your patience and attention. First of all, you will have to connect the power cord to the notebook, so you don't run out of power during the update.
Reboot your ultrabook and press F2 to go into the BIOS Setup. Go to “security” and clear the Secure Boot keys.
Exit by saving the changes and wait for Windows to load. When the OS has fully loaded, double click the executable file from the BIOS archive you’ve downloaded.
The flashing has begun, and a progress bar will keep you informed on how the update is going. Once the installation process is complete, the system will automatically shut down.
On the next power up, go to the BIOS Setup and check the version to see if it all went as planned.
