ASRock has just released a new set of BIOSes meant for its P81 Pro3, P85 Pro3, and Z87 Extreme4/TB4 motherboards. The common changes for all these products are the updated Intel ME (Management Engine) and a new feature that hides Intel Turbo Boost Technology if CPU does not support this.

Besides these, for the Z87 Extreme4/TB4, the new BIOS adds an updated CPU code and improvements in memory compatibility and “UEFI Tech Service” function.

To install any of the new releases, ASRock recommends using the Instant Flash utility from the initial BIOS.

First of all, download and extract the archive containing the update file. Next, restart your computer and press F2 during POST (Power-on self-test) to enter the BIOS. Under the “Smart” tab you will find the “ASRock Instant Flash” utility. Select it and make it detect all suitable update files. It will scan all devices such as USB, hard disk, or floppy drive.

Select the suitable BIOS version and flash.

Do not turn off your system while the setup is ongoing. This may cause malfunctions or unexpected behavior.

When the process is complete, the system restarts and the OS starts booting.

Get the latest BIOS for the mentioned motherboards at the links below, flash the one that fits your device, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
