Today, Fujifilm updated two of its X series digital cameras through new firmware packages, namely version 3.00 for the X-Pro1 camera, as well as version 2.00 for the X-E1 device.

The newly released files improve the auto-focus (AF) speed on some of the XF lenses such as XF14mmF2.8 R, XF18mmF2 R, and XF35mmF1.4 R. In addition, XF60mmF2.4 R Macro and XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS lenses are also supported by this update.

Moreover, “Focus Peak Highlight” manual focusing option is added, and focus accuracy is improved in various scenes such as low-contrast subjects and horizontal stripes situations.

Furthermore, during manual focus, if you press the “Command dial” to activate the image magnifications and turn the dial left or right, you will be able to alternate the magnification from 3 to 10 times.

A last issue that I must highlight would be that for enjoying the benefits of the AF speed improvement, you will need to apply the firmware upgrade version 3.00 developed for the up-mentioned lenses.

Therefore, from the first two links below, follow the one that best describes your Fujifilm digital camera, and afterwards, follow the last one to reach a list from where you can download the firmware for a specific XF lenses.
