Fujifilm has outed a new firmware for its FinePix X100 and X100 Black digital cameras, namely version 2.00, which includes various fixes and improvements that raise the devices’ overall performance.

Specifically speaking, the new release improves the autofocus speed by up to 20% in certain conditions such as bright and dark scenes, and the close-up focus distance by up to 30%, so that it can take a clear shot at smaller distances.

Moreover, version 2.00 adds “Focus Peak Highlight” function that gives the possibility of manual focusing, shortens the start-up time by approximately 0.2 seconds, and fixes the issue where the camera would automatically turn off during “Bulb (B)” shooting when “Image Disp.” is selected.

As for installing the firmware, make sure the camera is turned off, copy the downloadable “FPUPDATE.DAT” file onto a formatted memory card, and insert it into the camera. Now, just power on the device while holding the “Back” button, and follow the onscreen instructions.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Fujifilm digital camera, get the package, and update the camera’s firmware version.
