The new 1.01 also fixes an issue where the camera shuts down under certain conditions

Today, Fujifilm has made a new firmware package available for its X-A1 and X-M1 cameras, namely version 1.01, through which the producer manages to increase the devices’ overall performance and operability.

Specifically speaking, this fresh update optimizes the autofocus accuracy for still images (and Fujifilm will probably continue to improve it through future releases).

Moreover, this first firmware release fixes an issues that the devices have been encountering, where the cameras would turn off while shooting in “Bulb (B)” mode with the “CONTINUOUS” setting set to “IMAGE DISP..”

As for installing the new update, get the downloadable package and copy it onto the root folder of a formatted memory card, and insert it into the camera.

Now make sure the XF or XC lens are not attached to the body, turn the device on while holding the “Back” button, press “Ok” twice to confirm the item as a body, and at the firmware dialog, select and confirm the upgrade by pressing the “Ok” button.

The process should take about 90 seconds (it’s not much, but make sure you’re patient), and when it finishes, a confirmation dialog will appear, point at which you must turn off the camera and remove the memory card.

That being said, depending on which camera you own, download Firmware 1.01 for Fujifilm X-A1 Camera or download Firmware 1.01 for Fujifilm X-M1 Camera, take into account the above mentioned aspects, and enjoy your newly improved device.
