The update includes a huge number of fixes and improvements

Fractal Audio has announced the availability of firmware 17.00 compatible with its Axe-Fx II Mark I, Mark II, and XL preamplifiers, which improves block power supply modeling, fixes several wrong values in Fox ODS amp models, and implements various other changes.

Specifically speaking, this new update adds preamp simulation to Cabinet block, “DYN EQ” GUI page to Amp block, and VU meters to Utility menu, renews Flanger block algorithms completely, and includes a “Presence Shift” switch option for certain USA amp models.

In addition to that, Graphic EQ and Amp blocks benefit from “3 Band Console” types, Multiband Compressor receives “Fast RMS” detector type options, and Drive block is now able to make use of “SDD Preamp,” “FET Preamp,” and “Ruckus” types.

Moreover, the “ODS-100 Lead” and “ODS-100 Lead Mid” names have been changed to “ODS-100 HRM” and “ODS-100 HRM Mid,” respectively, and 4x12 “Kalthallen” cabs have been replaced with UltraRes samples from Cab Pack 7.

If you intend to apply firmware 17.00, you should also know that the device will afterwards benefit from “1959SLP Jump” and “FAS Modern III” amp models, a new “Rumble HRM” tone stack type, as well as from a fresh “ODS-100 Ford MD” model.

But the changes don’t stop here: an improper CF Comp value has been resolved, a matching calculation math error has been fixed, a Ref Solo shortcut is now present in Tone Match block, and several other enhancements are implemented (click the “Release Notes” button below to view the full changelog).

That being said, download Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II Preamplifier Firmware 17.00 for your specific device, apply it, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about.
