Today, Fractal Audio has updated the firmware for its Axe-Fx II XL, Mark I, and Mark II preamplifiers, launching version 15.05, which only fixes the Master Q defaulting to 0.1 (for older presets).

However, this new release also includes all changes and fixes brought by Firmware 15.04 for Axe-Fx II Preamplifiers, such as the Lowhshelf 2, Highshelf 2, Master, and Passive EQ type additions or the 5153 Blue amp lockup workarounds.

As for upgrading to this latest release, the easiest way is to use the producer’s Fractal-Bot Utility 2.0.2. However, prior to using this MIDI utility, you must make sure that the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II USB Driver is already applied on your system.

If the drivers aren’t present, get the appropriate file for your OS, connect the Axe-Fx II to the computer through a USB cable, turn on the preamp, run the available setup, and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

When finished, download and extract the proper firmware package for your Axe-Fx II model, install and run the Fractal-Bot application, and use the utility to apply the newly-extracted software to the preamp.

Bear in mind that since an update failure can seriously damage the device, make sure to remove all cables or terminate any connection that can interfere with the upgrade so that no problems are encountered.

With this in mind, download Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II Preamplifier Firmware 15.05 for the appropriate device model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your unit to the latest firmware version.
