Fractal Audio has just released a new firmware version for their Axe-FX II guitar processor. This update fixes the issue with wrong firmware revision reporting to Axe-Edit as well as the one when the amp block master volume capacitor value is not “sticking.”

The release notes mention the problem where certain amp models were referencing wrong MIMIC data structures and adds it to the fixed issues list.

Updating requires some additional software such as Fractal-Bot, a free utility. Before you can use that, you need to install the Axe-Fx II driver.

Launch Fractal-Bot and select the “Send” tab. Next, select a device to update. Browse for the update file and then hit “Begin.”

On-screen instructions will guide you through the installation process. Bear in mind that updating the firmware will reset all your presets and settings so be sure to back them up.

Below are the links to the update toolkit. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
