Today, Foscam has released a new firmware package targeted at its FI9831W surveillance camera, namely version 1.11.1.14, which adds support for a large number of new features that improve the device’s overall stability and operability.

In addition to that, this fresh update indicates the security level when changing or setting a new password, extends the alarm recording time to 5 minutes, and includes system firmware 1.4.1.8, app firmware version 1.11.1.14, as well as the 2.0.1.7 plug-in version.

As for installing the package, get and expand the downloadable archive, restart the camera, and connect it through an Ethernet cable before starting (wireless update is not recommended), and log into the device’s web page.

Now go to Settings → System → System Upgrade → Browse, select the “HI3518A_ddr256M_sys_ver1.4.1.8.bin” file, click on “Open,” and then hit the “System Upgrade” button.

After it finishes, the camera will reboot automatically, and when the IP Camera Tool appears back, go to Settings → System → System Upgrade → Browse and follow the same sequence as above, only this time you must use the “FI9831W_app_ver1.11.0.26.bin” file.

And last but not least, after the device restarts once more and the IP Camera Tool appears, follow the above steps one more time using the “FI9831W_app_ver1.11.1.14.bin” file, and you will completely perform the update.

That being said, download Firmware 1.11.1.14 for Foscam FI9831W Camera, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, and enjoy your newly updated camera.
