The firmware version cannot be downgraded after the installation is complete

Foscam has just released new firmware versions for some of its IP cameras. The products on the updates list are FI8907W, FI8909, FI9831W, FI9818W V2, and FI9821P.

The list of added features and the release notes differ between the camera models, therefore I invite you to click the link below to check out what's new.

What is common for all the cameras is the installation procedure of the firmware. This requires a wired connection and a continuous power source.

The whole process is simple (as it should be) and requires you to download the update package and unzip it to an accessible location (your Desktop, for example).

Next, log in to your camera through a web browser and, in the “Settings” menu, select “System.” Click on “System Upgrade” then browse for the firmware file you've just extracted. Hit the “System Upgrade” button next to “Browse” and wait for the camera to update.

If this blog didn't help you get through the process or you feel unsafe doing as mentioned, there are instructions in every package, which I highly recommend you scroll through before you start the installation.
