Foscam has just released a new firmware update for its FI9805E IP camera. Version 2.14.1.5 comes with new features, such as added support for Internet Explorer 11, an option to enable beep sound on PC when the alarm is triggered, and the ability to customize the video settings on the main and sub streams.

Besides what is mentioned above, schedule recording for main and sub streams as well as setting schedule to turn off IR LEDs are now supported.

To update, download the new Foscam FI9805E IP Camera Firmware 2.14.1.5 and extract the archive to an accessible location.

Before you start the actual update, there are some preparations to be made. First of all, restart the camera, then connect it via Ethernet cable to a router and, most importantly, make sure you keep the power on during the installation.

Now, log into the web UI of the camera with administrator rights and go to “Settings,” then “System” and click “System Upgrade.” On the following screen select browse and choose the “FI9805E_app_ver1.14.0.40_OneToAll.bin” file. Click “Open” and then “System Upgrade.”

The upgrade will start and the camera will reboot when it completes. Repeat the procedure for the “FosIPC_A_app_ver2.x.1.5.bin” file and the new update is now installed.
