14 DAY TRIAL // Today, Foscam has rolled out a new firmware package targeted at its FI9816P surveillance camera, namely version 2.x.1.30, which improves P2P, IR-Cut, and IR LEDs functions.
Besides the 2.x.1.30 app firmware version, this update also applies the 3.0.0.4 plug-in build, as well as the 1.9.1.11 system firmware. However, for installing these new iterations, you must follow a few steps.
Therefore, if you intend to upgrade your network camera, save and extract the downloadable archive, make sure you reboot the device (highly recommended), and establish a wired connection between your FI9816P device and the computer using an Ethernet cable.
Now, log into your unit as an administrator, go to Settings > System > System Upgrade, click “Browse,” navigate and select the newly-extracted .bin file, click “Open,” and then select “System Upgrade.”
Bear in mind that, while installing, you mustn’t interrupt this process by removing the Ethernet or power cables, rebooting either devices used for this task, or closing the web browser. Doing so will cause an upgrade failure which might also lead to various device malfunctions.
Once the new firmware has been applied and your camera restarts, it would be a good idea to check your device’s information to see if the System, Application, and Plug-In versions have been installed successfully.
