EVGA has made available new BIOS packages compatible with two of its Intel X99 chipset-based motherboards, namely version 1.06, which improves 2400+ MHz memory stability, voltage stability, as well as default CPU performance.

In addition to that, the two compatible boards (X99 Micro and X99 Classified) also receive several compatibility fixes regarding the GeForce GTX TITAN Z graphics card chipset.

Therefore, if you intend to apply this version, then save and extract the appropriate downloadable archive, go into BIOS and load the default settings (flashing BIOS on overclocked settings isn’t recommended), and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Afterwards, run the “update.bat” file from within the newly created folder, press “Y” to initiate the process, and wait for the new BIOS to be applied. Bear in mind that during the installation you mustn’t reboot or power off the system as this can cause serious malfunctions.

After the BIOS has finished updating and the computer restarts automatically, go to the BIOS setup menu once more, and check to see if the upgrade has been successful by reviewing the currently installed BIOS version (it should now read 1.06).

That being said, download EVGA X99 Micro BIOS 1.06 or download EVGA X99 Classified BIOS 1.06 depending on which board you own, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade the BIOS to the latest version.
