The release includes support for several Xeon E5 CPU models

A few moments ago, EVGA rolled out BIOS 1.14 compatible with its X99 Micro, FTW, and Classified motherboards, which includes a new USB profile function that allows saving and loading profiles from a USB memory stick, as well as several other new features.

Specifically speaking, EVGA’s update adds support for a large number of Intel Xeon E5 processor models listed on the description page of each download, allows disabling one or more CPU cores, and includes a fresh VT-d item under CPU configuration page.

In addition to that, BIOS 1.14 also gives users the ability to load their last saved settings (F9 hotkey) even if CMOS is clean, and adds support for UEFI RAID, which is available only when in RAID mode with CSM disabled.

When it comes to installing this version, first make sure that this update fixes a specific problem your board has been encountering or implements a change that can be made use of – otherwise it’s just a risk that you can avoid taking.

However, if this BIOS is needed for any reason, get and expand the proper archive for your board, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the flashing, locate and run the “Windows_Update.bat” file, and press “Y” to initiate the upgrade.

If this method isn’t suitable for you or doesn’t work, then copy all the archive content onto a bootable disk, reboot the system, and from the DOS prompt, run the “DOS_Update.bat” file, press “Y” just like above, and wait for the process to finish.

Upon completion, it would be a good idea to restart your computer, load the default BIOS settings, and check the currently installed version to ensure that the upgrade has been successful.

That being said, download EVGA X99 BIOS 1.14 for your specific device model, carefully apply it on your board, and enjoy the changes and improvements that this new release brings about.
