EVGA has outed a new BIOS package developed for its Intel C606 chipset-based motherboard, namely version 0.08 targeted at the Classified SR-X device, which includes a few changes that improve the device’s performance.

Specifically speaking, the new update includes support for Ivy Bridge-EP CPUs, adds a new GUI BIOS interface, and contains several other improvements and compatibility updates.

As for installing the BIOS, get and expand the downloadable archive, close all open programs and any process that might interfere with the update, and run the “Windows_Update.bat” file from the newly created folder.

Now, press any key to continue, choose “Yes” at the account control message, and press “Y” to initiate the update process.

Bear in mind that while the installation is in progress, turning off or resetting the system isn’t recommended. Doing so will crash the update process, and this might cause serious damage to your motherboard.

So wait for the flashing process to complete, press any key so that the computer can shut down, power it back on, and check to see if the currently installed BIOS version matches the one you have just installed to ensure that the upgrade has been successful.

That being said, if you consider applying this package, then download BIOS 0.08 for EVGA Classified SR-X, take into account all the mentioned aspects, and install the latest version for your board.
