This fresh update resolves the OC Mode problem that caused the LAN to disable

EVGA has just made available a new BIOS package targeted at its X79 Dark motherboard, namely version 2.11, which resolves an issue where enabling the OC Mode would cause the LAN to disable.

If you have been encountering this problem, we recommend that you consider upgrading your BIOS to the present release.

To do so, get and extract the downloadable archive, make sure you have loaded the BIOS defaults (don’t flash on overclocked settings), and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Now, go into the newly-created folder, run the “update.bat” file, press the “Y” key to initiate the flash process, and wait for the upgrade to complete. You can also copy the content of the archive onto a formatted USB stick, and run the .bat file from a DOS prompt in order to update the BIOS.

Either way, when the installation finishes, the system will automatically shut down, point at which you should power it back on, and verify the currently installed BIOS build to ensure the installation has been successful. Also, it would be best if you load the BIOS default settings once more.

Bear in mind that, during the upgrade, you must not turn off the system or cut off the power – doing so will result into an update failure which can seriously damage the motherboard.

That being said, download EVGA X79 Dark BIOS 2.11, apply the release, and check with our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
