EIZO, a Japanese manufacturer, has recently launched firmware version 1.0002 for their ColorEdge CG276 monitor.

The new release improves the problem with the PC freezing at boot-up when connecting USB. Besides that, the color mode specification has changed from the original CAL(DVI)/ CAL(DP)/ CAL(HDMI) to the new CAL1/ CAL2/ CAL3.

Firmware version 1.0002 can be installed under Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8, for both 32- and 64-bit architectures.

EIZO's ColorEdge CG276 monitor makes use of some very interesting features, such as self-calibration sensor. This will swing up onto the screen and do its job, eliminating the need for a third-party calibration device.

It is a 27” (68cm) panel that has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 while connected through its DisplayPort and 1920 x 1080 via HDMI.

The most unusual feature is the shading hood, which can be used for either portrait or landscape modes.
