DrayTek has just announced that a new firmware update for its VigorIPPBX 2820 series and 3510 IP PBX routers is available for download, one day earlier than when the manufacturer said it would be.

This release is addressed to a lot of variations of the two basic series, depending on modem numbers. Version 3.5.9 brings new features like a warning message that pops up in the web page of SysLog / Mail Alert when USB disk is full.

Digit Map rules have been increased from 50 to 60 and the prefix number can now be formed out of 15 digits.

Improvements are also present and the list starts with the resolved compatibility issue between DrayTek IPPBX and GSM gateway. The same problem is resolved for BLF function of Snom IP-phone.

The full release notes are available at any of the download pages for DrayTek VigorIPPBX 2820 and 3510 IP PBX Routers Firmware 3.5.9.

To install, get the correct firmware version according to the model number on your device. You'll download an archive which needs to be extracted.

Once you've done that, log into your router and select “System Maintenance.” Next, click “Firmware Upgrade” and browse for the recently extracted files.

Finally, select “Upgrade” and be patient for a while. The router will now flash the firmware and, when it completes, the device reboots.

The installation is complete and the unit is now running firmware version 3.5.9.
