14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has recently released the downloadable package of the October 2013 update for its Surface Pro 2 tablet. The archive contains drivers for all the components from Microsoft's tablet, as well as the new firmware. This update is meant to work with Windows 8.1 only.
As mentioned in an earlier post, the new firmware includes UEFI improvements and System Aggregator updates. This only means that better performance while running Windows 8.1 is to be expected.
The new drivers are also optimized to work with the new OS and, as Microsoft mentions, enhance the Type Cover 2 or Surface Touch Cover 2 usability.
Inside the archive, you will find several brand-named folders such as Intel, Marvell, Microsoft and Realtek, containing specific driver files.
