It's time to review and update the drivers for your Realtek network cards, as new software is now available for free (and fast) download.

It's been quite some time since we saw new drivers surfacing for the almost ubiquitous Realtek cards, yet here we are. New software is now available for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, and the new release supports a lot of network interfaces.

The driver versions for Windows XP and 7 are new: 5.792 and 7.050, respectively, while the Vista version has remained unchanged. Despite the fact that Realtek release a Vista driver with the same pack version like the former one surfaced in December 2011, the contents of the package are different. No explanation is available at the time of writing, but we guess you're more interested in a new driver than in a new name.

Realtek notes that the new drivers support the following devices:

- RTL8100E/RTL8101E/RTL8102E-GR/RTL8103E(L) - RTL8102E(L)/RTL8101E/RTL8103T - RTL8401/RTL8401P/RTL8105E - RTL8402.
