Today, EVGA’s developers made available their latest BIOS package targeted at the Z87 FTW motherboard, namely version 1.05, which can be installed regardless of the operating system employed on your computer.

The 1.05 BIOS version includes some keyboard compatibility improvements, fixes a system hang problem on B2 error, and resolves the PCI-E LED bug encountered after exiting sleep state S3.

As for updating the BIOS, first you should know that installing a newer version isn’t recommended if the system works fine and no problems are encountered. Yet, if you have some issues with the board, make sure the version you are about to install specifically resolves at least one of your device’s problems.

Therefore, assuming that you consider installing this package, then get the downloadable archive, expand it, and close all running programs and any process that might interfere with the update.

Now run the “Windows_Update.bat” file from within the newly extracted folder, press any key to continue, click “Yes” in the User Account Control dialog, and press “Y” to initiate the flash process.

Bear in mind that while the installation is in progress, you must not turn off or reboot the system, because doing so will crash the update, and it might also cause serious damage to the board. A good idea would be to use a UPS unit that will guarantee your safety.

That being said, go ahead and download BIOS 1.05 for EVGA Z87 FTW Motherboard, ensure that you have understood all the aspects mentioned above, apply the package, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
