14 DAY TRIAL // TRENDnet has recently updated the firmware version for their TW100-BRF214 (Version v1.0R) router to 1.00.02. This release updates UPnP stealth mode functionality to prevent against UpnP scan/detection tools.
The same fix was mentioned a few days ago, when I told you about the firmware update for TW100-S4W1CA (Version 2.0) router (which, judging by the specs, is very much alike).
To install this firmware version, download and unzip the archive to an accessible location. Use a browser and access the router configuration page. From there, look for the “System” button and press it.
Use the “Firmware Upgrade” section to browse for the update file and, when done, click the “Apply” button. Make sure that during the installation process, you do not power off the router or press the reset button.
