We've just listed the latest firmware for Iomega's StorCenter NAS units; from the small units designed to meet the usual storage needs in small applications, up to the big bucks storage solutions, they're all receiving updates.

The new firmware brings nice new features like the Configuration Capture and Restore, which allows owners to save a configuration and then simply install it on another compatible hardware StorCenter unit. You also get a new handy function for wake on LAN and scheduled power.

On the security side, the Iomega StorCenter get file system encryption and Secure FTP (SFTP). Generic enhancements have been made for XFS, SMART and Video Surveillance functions, while numerous other minor bugs have also been fixed.

Iomega claims the new firmware is not data destructive, but stresses that you should always back up your data prior to any system software upgrade. You can download the new firmware for the Iomega StorCenter NAS units for free, as always.
