Just now, Creative has just outed a new driver version developed for its Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 sound card, namely build 1.01.03, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

If applied, this newly-released update adds support for ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output) playback and installs the Omni Control Panel that provides numerous configuration possibilities that could improve the device’s overall performance.

As for installing this package, simply confirm that your system is running under one of the compatible platforms, get the downloadable driver, run it, and wait for the executable to extract all the files needed for the update.

Afterwards, make sure the external audio card is connected to the system, select the desired language on the installer’s window, click “Ok,” and follow the displayed instructions for a complete and successful upgrade.

In addition to that, after the installation has completed, don’t forget to perform a reboot so that all the changes take effect properly.

Moreover, bear in mind that, even though other OSes might also be compatible, we do not recommend applying this package on platforms other than the ones specified above.

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 Driver 1.01.03, apply the latest driver version, and enjoy your newly-updated external USB sound card.
