This update resolves the AF Lock unwanted release issue

One of Fujifilm’s X series digital cameras, namely the X30 imaging device, has just received firmware version 1.01, which fixes a rare issue that caused AF Lock to be released while pressing shutter button halfway.

Therefore, if you are one of the few unlucky owners that encountered this problem, then you should definitely take into account updating the firmware to this release.

To do so, first initialize a memory card using the camera’s format options, save and copy the downloadable “FPUPDATE.DAT” onto the card’s root directory, and insert it into the X30 while it’s powered off (make sure the battery is fully charged).

Now, turn on the camera while holding “Back” button, select “OK” at the battery-related message that appears regardless of any situation, and initiate the upgrade process by choosing “OK” at the next pop-ups.

Bear in mind that while the camera is updating, you mustn’t turn it off, remove its memory card, disconnect the battery, or make use of its controllers. Doing so not only will lead to an upgrade failure but might also render the X30 unusable.

Simply wait patiently about 90 seconds for the installation to complete, turn camera off once the upgrade has finished, and remove and format the memory card used in this process.

Now that you know all you need to successfully improve your camera, download Fujifilm X30 Camera Firmware 1.01, and apply it on your device. Also, you might want to often check with our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
