Dovado has made available a new firmware package compatible with its routers, namely version 7.2.0 developed for the TINY, PRO, GO, and DOMA devices, which includes several changes that improve the compatible unit’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, this release adds PPPoE authentication on Ethernet WAN port, allows multiple SMS removal, fixes the Huawei E3276 issue regarding the inserted SD card, and gives users the ability to configure the custom SMS “From” field.

Through this fresh update the LAN Subnet Mask can be changed, the PIN code on SIM card can be disabled, DHCP table hostnames are now shown, and multiple SIM cards support has been added to the traffic page.

Moreover, the Connection Tracker works properly even with embedded PPTP-based VPN client, incoming SMS can be forwarded, and several USB modems, as well as GPS dongles, are now added to the support list.

In addition to that, the PRO model also gets support for NAS drives larger than 3 TB, full SMS control via both inserted USB modems, and the ability to perform a failover between two connected devices.

As for installing this release, simply get and extract the proper archive, log into the router’s web UI, and go to Upgrade → HTTP Upgrade → Browse. Now select the .bin file from the newly created folder, click “Start HTTP Upgrade,” and allow the device to perform the update (about 3 minutes).
